30 Days To a Better You

30 Days & 30 Choices To A Better You

30 days to a better you

Are you ready for a little challenge? Of course, you are!

You’re a rockstar. DUH!

This challenge is all about choices. Simple choices that will help you live your best life. Small choices that will make you happier. And isn’t that what we all want?

To live a happy and fulfilled life. But this idea can be overwhelming. So we are going to break it down into little bite-sized choices we can all handle.

Today I Choose To…

1) Make Sleep a Priority

Sleep is a beautiful thing. SO BEAUTIFUL!

Do you get enough of it?

I know there are times when we are not completely in control of how much sleep we get. But if you have the option to get caught up on sleep, please do it.

Some days, an afternoon cat nap with my favorite blanket is exactly what I need.

A well-rested you will always be a good choice.

2) Drink More Water

Stop, drop, and drink. Water, that is.

Make sure you are staying hydrated!

I love using something like this motivational water bottle to hold myself accountable.

3) Smile at a Stranger

This sounds easy enough, right? And chances are you do this already.

But here is the catch. Even if they do not smile back, don’t let it bother you. Just smile and then go about your day.

If you can end the day proud of how you acted, then that is a good day.

4) Complain Less

It is not realistic to make a vow that you will never complain again. But it is realistic to make the choice to not complain about every single thing that happens throughout your day.

Really be picky when it comes to how you spend your energy.

5) Turn a Negative into a Positive

Flip the script, friends!

Choose to find at least one positive in a not so positive situation.

6) Not Spend Money

Only spend money on necessities.

Today, do not buy something just because you feel like it.

You work hard for your money! Really think about the things it is going toward.

7) Be Grateful

Being grateful will change your life. It will change your mindset.

Name at least one thing you are grateful for today. Hey, if you are feeling up to it, name three things you’re grateful for.

This gratitude journal could really come in handy for this.

8) Put My Phone Away

Raise your hand if you are on your phone too much. My hand is definitely raised.

Put your phone away for even a little bit. I promise none of us are missing anything.

9) Write in a Journal

I love to journal. I pour myself a cup of coffee (or wine depending on the time of day) and I just write.

Try it for yourself. Get those feelings and thoughts out of your head. Clear some space in your brain.

Here is a post I wrote all about how to start a journal.

10) Read

Books can make you laugh or cry. They can motivate and inspire you and even teach you.

Pick up a book. You may only have a few minutes to read and that’s fine.

My book of choice is usually in the personal development category. Parenting books come in at a close second.

You know what? I don’t think I’ve ever met a book I didn’t like.

**Also, if you want to take it a step further here, you should check out Coursera. It’s an online learning platform that offers thousands of different courses on basically anything. You can even earn certificates and degrees.

11) Listen to a Podcast

Podcasts are huge right now. I am more of a book person but I want to give podcasts a try.

You could listen to these in the car or while you are working out. Heck, even while you are cleaning up the house or putting laundry away. UGH. Laundry is not my jam!

12) Acknowledge My Struggles

We all know that everything is not always rainbows and unicorns. It is absolutely okay to acknowledge the struggles in our lives.

I actually think acknowledgment is a great first step in working through an issue.

No brushing something under the rug. Be aware and face it!

13) Talk to a Friend

Don’t just say you are going to text someone. Don’t just think about how it would be nice to catch up with a friend.

Take some action. Send the text. Make the call. Maybe even set up a day to hang out. You will not regret connecting with someone.

14) Give Out a Compliment

Compliment someone else. Compliment yourself.

Let’s be honest. Compliments feel good. Whether you are dishing them out or receiving them, they just feel good!

15) Organize

I can bet there is at least one thing that comes to mind when you think of organizing.

Pick something that won’t take you too long. Something you can accomplish today. This can be anything from a junk drawer to your purse.

Organize something today no matter what! My hall closet is calling my name as I type this.

Be sure to check out these tips on how to organize your home!

16) Be Productive

Make a list of a few things you want to or need to get done. Don’t go too crazy giving yourself 32 tasks. You want to set yourself up for success.

Read all about the secret weapon I use to be more productive!

17) Move my Body

You can spare time to move your body.

Exercising may not be your favorite thing. It is for sure not one of mine.

But after I am done working out, I feel good. I have never regretted making this choice.

18) Forgive Myself

Forgive yourself for things that happened in the past. There is no way to change those things.

Stop beating yourself up. There are much better ways to spend your time.

19) Set a Goal

Check out this post about how to set and achieve goals!

20) Say No

Yep, you can say no to things. And you know what else? You do not even need to feel bad about it.

Have a hard time saying no? Read this!

I highly recommend getting your hands on this amazing book. It is all about setting boundaries and how that will impact your life.

21) Try Something New

Give that comfort zone of yours the middle finger.

What’s the worst thing that could happen by trying something new?

Now here is a better question.

What is the best thing that could happen by trying something new?

22) Slow Down

Ever feel like you are on cruise control? Sometimes I swear it is Monday and then all of a sudden it is Thursday night.

Pump the brakes and slow it down a little bit. Life is not a race.

23) Celebrate

Can’t think of something specific to celebrate?

Celebrate your dang life.

24) Not Care What Other People Think

Does it really matter what Pam thinks of you? It might feel like it does. But dig a little deeper, friend.

I promise you it does not.

25) Stop Comparing

This is a choice you should make every dang day of your life.

And it is a tough one. Don’t I know it? None of us are immune to the comparison bug.

Here are some tips on how to stop comparing yourself to others! Be sure to check it out.

26) Meditate

Just try it. Maybe you will love it. Maybe 5 minutes of meditation will be the hardest thing you have done today.

But what’s the harm in trying it?

27) Watch a TED Talk

I love a good motivational TED Talk. They are short, sweet and right to the point.

These always change my mindset for the better and leave me feeling motivated as heck!

28) Talk Kindly To Myself

Is that inner voice of yours on good behavior? I know mine has a tendency to act up!

Listen to how you talk to yourself. Really listen.

29) Find Some Me Time

You are important. Read that one again. You are important. Very important!

When is the last time you did something for yourself? Took some time for yourself?

Now, you may be thinking this is a nice idea but it’s just not possible. I understand. And I am not saying you need to run away to a hotel by yourself once a month to get refreshed. That does sound amazing though, doesn’t it?

This is about making yourself a priority and finding (or creating) those little pockets of time whenever you can.

30) To Choose

Choose to choose.

It is easy to read something or listen to something and then take no action! Don’t do this. Do better!

Try these things and see what they do for your life.

There is no secret out there that unlocks the door to a perfect life. A life that is free of struggles or heartache. A life without stress.

But you always have a choice. And life is all about the choices you make.

Don’t underestimate even the smallest or simplest of choices!

Good thoughts. I loved reading them because that’s the habit of mine too.

I also sometimes spend my precious time in using phones and later realizes. Most of the time our brain needs to be nurtured with emotions, joyful moment and some kind of meditation too.
